What does iCatch do? It compares images against information in a database to locate similar images. The result is for the first time you have in your hands the potential to locate significant images on a subject hard drive without spending hours examining thumbnail pictures, trying to separate the "wheat" from the "chaff". iCatch has the capability to do a great deal of this separation for you, automatically and without human guidance. The results of the comparison are displayed in a ranked list with the most similar images at the top. This list can be very large - we have run tests with over 100,000 images in a single run against a database of more than 500,000 images.

How would you use this? Assuming you have a collection of pictures of fur coats and you trying to establish if a hard drive contains pictures of similar coats involved in illegal activities. If there are a few hundred images on the subject hard drive, this is a reasonable task for a person. When there are 30,000 digital photographs on the hard drive in no apparent organization this becomes a significant task. With iCatch is takes about 2 minutes to set up and can then run unattended until it finishes. With appropriate hardware, iCatch can process 40,000 images per hour or more.

PRIVATE iCATCH:
This product is distributed with a database engine that is designed to operate on the same computer as the iCatch application. This can introduce some serious limitations on performance. The database engine has additional capacity limitations that may also be significant – a maximum of approximately 1 million records can be held.
Multiple workstations using Private iCatch can be synchronized, but it can be a time-consuming process for more than two or three workstations. Up to three Private iCatch workstations can be linked to the same database, but this is not advised for most organizations. Please contact InfinaDyne for more information about what configuration fits your needs and budget.
Private iCatch can make use of multiple processors and a minimum of 1024MB of RAM is suggested.

TEAM iCATCH:
This product requires a separate database engine, usually on a separate server. With this configuration significantly better performance can be achieved than with Private iCatch. By having multiple workstations sharing the same database all synchronization considerations are eliminated allowing for much better group workflow.
Team iCatch has virtually unlimited capacity using any of the supported database engines. Because of the unique way in which the iCatch application searches image data, having millions of images in the database does not degrade performance.
Team iCatch can make use of multiple processors and a minimum of 512MB of RAM is suggested. A dual processor configuration with at least 1024MB of RAM is suggested for the database server.
