Hard Drive EMI Shield Cooler protects hard drives from EMI noise, and at the same time reduces the heat generated by the hard drives.
Hard drives are sometimes used and operated outside their native originally intended environments. For instance, when they are placed outside a computer case they can be exposed to EMI interfaces (electrical noise), and because of an inadequate cooling mechanism, the drive’s operating temperature can rise. Today’s high performance hard drives are more susceptible to EMI (electrical noise) and with high spinning motors (15,000 revolutions per minute) they can generate much more heat than the older drives. So to ensure their proper operation, ICS has introduced a new accessory that addresses the two concerns – electrical noise and heat. The new accessory is a Hard Drive EMI Shield Cooler. The hard drive slides into the metal sleeves without any need for mounting screws. Coupled with a powerful fan, on top of the device, the heat is dissipated and maintained at a comfortable operating temperature level, in which the hard drives can operate optimally. Additionally the metal sleeves, unlike inferior plastic devices, function as a shield against the EMI noise, to assure reliable operation in a safe environment.
